DOYDIFF 2002* for Palm OS and Pocket PC 2002 is an easy to use date calculator. It computes a date based on a given number of years , months, weeks, days. It also computes a total days difference between two calendar dates, giving a breakdown by years, months, weeks, days . It displays the day of year for a calendar date. Using DOYDIFF for Pocket PC 2002
To Find a Difference between 2 Calendar Dates
Select the TO option and select a date from the Calendar. Select the FROM option and select a date from the Calendar.
OR
Select the TO option and enter a date in the TO text box. Tap the Update button. Select the FROM option and enter a date in the FROM text box. Tap the Update button. This method is faster if there is a large difference in years between the dates, as the datess are entered directly rather than by scrolling through the calendar month-by-month, year-by-year.
The DIFF box will show the total difference in days, the Y M W D boxes show the Year, Month, Week, Day breakdown, between the FROM and the TO dates.
To Compute a Date based on a Known Date and a Certain Number of Years, Months, Weeks, or Days
Select the FROM option and enter a known date, such as Jan 1, 2003.
Next select the TO option. This sets the TO date as the target date.
Next enter values for years, months, weeks, days in the Y, M, W, D boxes and tap the Update button. The TO date will be updated to reflect the required difference. Note: You can click the letters "Y", "M", and so on to quickly set the value Y, M, and so on, value to 0. You can enter values such as Y 0, M 18, W 0, D 0 to compute 18 months from a given date. Alternatively, you can enter Y 1, M 6, W 0, D 0, which is 1 year, 6 months (or 18 months). The selected target date, the TO date in this case, will be updated to July 1, 2004.
If you do not know the Y, M, W, D breakdown, you can enter the total Days Difference in the DIFF entry box (such as 547 days), then tap the Update button. The TO date, which is selected as the target date, will be updated to reflect the required difference.
To Find the Day of Year of a Date
Select the TO (or FROM) date from the calendar and select a calendar date. The DOY (Day of Year) box displays the day of year for the selected date.
To Find the Date of a Certain Day of Year (DOY) in a Given Year
Select the TO (or FROM) date from the calendar and set the year of that date to year you are interested in. The months and days can be any valid value, such as 01/01/2003 for the year 2003.
Next, enter the DOY value, such as 124, in the DOY box and tap the Update button. The calendar date for that DOY will be reflected in the TO (or FROM) calendar date, such as May 5, 2003.
