Enjoying Our First Break from Life "in the Bush" at Gibbs Farm
Gibbs Farm is a former coffee plantation overlooking a picturesque valley where the bean is grown, and is now a very charming lodge.
The local flora is exotic and colorful, reminding us of Hawaii.
Colorful Weaver birds are ubiquitous.
They hang out near the "smorgasbord" -- rice and fruit put out by the Lodge to attract birds -- a favorite spot for easy and entertaining bird-watching.
Our "cocktail" hour group: Left to right, Bill, Dee, Alan, Sumpter, Linda, Joan, and Julie.
Next morning, a hike to a waterfall provides some welcome exercise. Alan and Sumpter are already looking very Masai with walking sticks postured over their shoulders. Hang on to somebody if you dare to look down.
