Fellow travelers Alan and Joan from Los Gatos, California emerge to take in their first morning in Tanzania.   We meet up with the nine members of our safari group, arriving from California, Michigan, Texas, Washington, and West Virginia.  We gather around the pond for our first views of African wildlife, right on the lodge grounds.

*We did NOT bring the video camera because of concerns over baggage weight limitations on intra-Africa flights (32 lbs per person).

It turned out that weight is NOT an issue -- unless you are grossly over-luggaged.  We were disappointed that concerns over baggage weight led us to leave the video camera at home.  Never again.  Bring it all.

Fortunately, this was the only disappointment of the trip!
