The wetlands of Kaleodeo Ghana National Park were actually created in the 19th century. The diversion of canal water to a system of dams transformed the scrublands to a watery ecosystem that attracts resident and migratory birds.
We ride by rickshaw (the non-polluting foot-pedal type) from the lodge to the banks of Kaleodeo.
