We enjoyed life "in the bush" but after two weeks of practicing personal hygiene in a tent, we appreciate the modern plumbing and amenities of the "Nairobi Serena Hotel".
"I once had a house in Africa, at the foot of the Ngong Hills." We visit the former coffee plantation of Karen Blixen, of "Out of Africa" fame.
We also pay a visit to the Giraffe Center, where one can get personal with a Rothschild giraffe which the Center has protected from extinction.
The tongue is truly a distinct blue color and quite soft. The Center sells bags of "treats" which the giraffes gladly accept right from our hands.
These gentle giants are so friendly one could easily spend a small fortune on bags of treats, but it's time to head "Out of Africa" ourselves, back to the hotel to pack for the Seychelles.
